- A cancer of the lining of the lung, stomach and heart
- Usually extremely rare
- With asbestos exposure in the last 10 years, 400 to 650 cases in Australia per year
- Exposure to asbestos is only known cause
- Latency period at least 15 years, can be up to 60 years
- Appears to have been caused by lower exposures to asbestos
